Zoom Player is a computer program that plays video and sound files on Windows-based personal computers. It is a general player that can play many media formats, depending on what "filters" (or "codecs") are installed with it. Since Zoom Player relies on external filters, users may have to acquire and install filters from third parties for many media types.

The site TopTenREVIEWS notes the customizability and skinability of Zoom Player, but complains of its difficulty in configuration and excessive nagware screens in its trial version^[1] WinPlanet's review states that Zoom Player "seems to support everything imaginable," particularly a variety of codecs not present in standard Windows players.^[2]

Zoom Player features a large on-screen interface for browsing files for use with televisions or projection displays. Zoom Player can be used with post-processing filters such as ffdshow, and can be used with third party subtitling filters. As well, the program can use open source filters and other advanced filters. The program itself is not open source, but it can be used with third party open source filters written for Windows.

Zoom player is proprietary software distributed under a proprietary license. A version with some advanced features removed is available for non-commercial use without monetary cost but full-featured versions require payment.
